Overview
Summit Scene collects information needed to create accounts, show local events and tours, support community features, review organizer accounts, moderate reports, and keep the app working.
Information We Collect
- Account information, such as name or business name, email address, password hash, Apple sign-in account identifier if used, role, town, profile details, avatar, selected languages, interests, social links, email verification status, and business verification status.
- Organizer information, such as contact email, business phone number if provided, business category, short description, website, Instagram, Facebook page, Google Business listing, booking links, and manual verification notes.
- Public content, such as event and tour posts, photos, community posts, buddy or plan posts, groups, replies, public profile information, likes, comment likes, interests, attendance choices, saved event choices, categories, vibe tags, and business information you choose to share. Public content may be visible to account users and to people browsing without an account.
- Optional location data, if you grant permission, to help show nearby events and map features. You can deny or disable location permissions through your device settings.
- Optional notification permission, if you grant permission, to send saved-event and going-event reminder alerts, and to alert you about comments or replies on your posts. You can disable notifications through your device settings.
- Event preference and notification information, such as saved events, going status, reminder preferences, reminder times, local notification scheduling records, in-app notification records, and device push tokens used to support event reminders and post activity alerts.
- Safety and moderation data, including reports about fake events, scams, inappropriate content, misleading businesses, posts, replies, users, or business profiles; blocks; moderation notes; review status; developer/admin notification records; and admin review actions.
- Technical and support data, such as device/app diagnostics, request logs, server errors, support emails, bug reports, and security-related records.
- Authentication and account recovery data, such as email verification tokens, password reset tokens, and email change confirmation records. These tokens are temporary and stored in protected form where applicable.
How We Use Information
- To provide accounts, profiles, events, tours, community posts, maps, replies, saved events, reminders, optional notification alerts, groups, categories, vibe tags, and plan features.
- To manually review business, organizer, and tour company accounts for Verified Local Organizer status.
- To respond to reports, block requests, moderation issues, support requests, and bug reports.
- To notify Summit Scene moderators when users report or block accounts or content that may be unsafe, abusive, misleading, or otherwise objectionable.
- To improve app safety, reliability, and performance.
- To comply with legal, safety, and platform review obligations.
Account Terms and User Safety
Summit Scene includes user-generated content, including profiles, community posts, event plans, replies, attendance signals, business profiles, and event listings. Users must agree to Summit Scene's account terms before logging in or creating an account.
Summit Scene has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Users can report objectionable content and block abusive users in the app. Reports and blocks may be reviewed by Summit Scene moderators and may result in content removal, account restrictions, account deletion, or other safety action.
Service Providers
We may use service providers for hosting, database storage, address lookup or geocoding, authentication including Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In, email delivery when enabled, AI-assisted event description drafts, analytics, support, and app operations. These providers process information only as needed to support Summit Scene.
Event reminder and post activity notifications are optional. Summit Scene may ask for device notification permission when you turn on saved-event or going-event reminders or notification alerts. Reminder alerts may be scheduled by the app on your device, and post activity alerts may be sent through the app's notification service.
Security Safeguards
No app or online service can guarantee that hacking, unauthorized access, data loss, or misuse will never happen. Summit Scene uses reasonable safeguards to reduce risk and protect accounts.
- Passwords are not stored as plain text. They are stored as password hashes.
- Login sessions use authentication tokens, and password changes invalidate older sessions.
- Email verification, password reset, and email change tokens are temporary and are not intended to be reusable.
- Database access and administrative tools should be limited to people who need access to operate, secure, support, or moderate Summit Scene.
- We use service providers that offer security controls for hosting, database storage, and app operations.
- Users should protect their own account by using a strong unique password, keeping email access secure, and logging out on shared devices.
Developer and Administrator Access
Summit Scene is operated by a developer/admin team. Developer or administrator access to user data is limited to purposes such as running the app, fixing bugs, investigating security issues, responding to support requests, reviewing reports, enforcing community rules, verifying business accounts, and complying with legal obligations.
Developers and administrators should not access, copy, disclose, sell, or use personal information for unrelated personal reasons. Passwords cannot be viewed because the app stores password hashes rather than plain-text passwords.
Public Content
Profiles, events, tours, booking links, community posts, replies, groups, business phone numbers, organizer information, and similar content may be visible to account users and to people browsing without an account. Do not post private information you do not want others to see.
Optional profile choices, including community interests, languages, social links, or LGBTQ+ related interests, may reveal personal or sensitive information. Only add details you are comfortable sharing with other users.
Retention and Deletion
You can request account and data deletion in the app from Account, or by emailing us. Deletion removes the account and associated app data, except where limited retention is needed for security, abuse prevention, dispute handling, backups, or legal compliance.
Children
Summit Scene accounts are intended for users who are at least 18 years old. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.
